This year's MAMA Awards are being held at the Tokyo Dome for the first time, and the first day of the event took place tonight. Similar to previous year, the event will take place across two nights, with additional performances and prizes scheduled on November 29 (Day 2).
On the first day, there was only one Daesang (Grand Prize) given out: Samsung Galaxy Worldwide Icon of the Year, which was won by BTS for the sixth consecutive year.
The Favourite New Artist prize went to two groups this year, and all ten of the Worldwide Fans' Choice (Bonsang) prizes for this year were also given out tonight.
