On November 22, BIGHIT MUSIC dropped the bombshell that RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, the remaining BTS members, will be enlisting in the military at the end of the year.
A few hours later, Jungkook took to his Weverse to share a short but sweet letter bidding farewell to his beloved ARMYs. In the letter, he expressed:
"Dear ARMYs,
It's the end of November, and the winds are blowing. I'm sure you're all aware, so I'm writing this short letter to you. In December, I'll embark on a new journey, stepping away for a while to serve in the military. As I share this news, one hand feels heavy, while the other is warmed by memories with ARMY.
Every moment with you has been the brightest in my life. Your laughter, support, and love brought me to this point. Thank you for supporting my dreams and silently walking with me. While in the military, I hesitate to ask you to wait, as a year and a half is a long time. However, I promise to return to the stage with a more mature side, just as I always am.
I wish ARMY's lives are filled with laughter and happiness. Take care of yourselves healthily and beautifully. I'll deeply miss you, waiting for the day we can talk about new things.
Don't get sick, stay healthy. I love you."
As much as fans anticipated this moment, the reality hits hard. The bond between BTS and their fans is indescribable, making this a challenging time for both the group and ARMYs. Despite the difficulty, fans are determined to stay strong and positive until the boys make their triumphant return.
