"On December 6, YG Entertainment officially confirmed the contract renewal with the girl group BLACKPINK.
The agency released an announcement stating, 'We have successfully reached an agreement within our board of directors regarding the signing of exclusive group contracts for all four members of BLACKPINK, our esteemed artists.’
After the previous contract expired in August 2023, it took the members and the agency more than three months to discuss and make a decision regarding the contract renewal. During this time, many fans believed that the group would disband and pursue individual careers to showcase their unique talents. Fortunately, YG Entertainment has announced plans for another world tour and a new album under the name ‘BLACKPINK.'
Despite the positive news, sources indicate that individual members are still finalizing their contract renewals, and the process is ongoing. According to Munhwa Libo, two members have decided to part ways with YG Entertainment, while the discussions are ongoing for the other two.
Recently, BLACKPINK wrapped up their 'BORN PINK' world tour in September. As a result, fans, known as 'Pinks,' are eagerly anticipating the girls to renew their contracts and release a new album, with the hope of an announcement for another world tour in 2024."
