World-famous pop superstar Jungkook of the well-known South Korean group BTS won "The Male Artist of the Year" at the 2024 People's Choice Awards in Santa Monica, California, USA, on February 18, 2024 adding yet another major trophy to his collection.
This win marks Jungkook's second consecutive win at the People's Choice Awards, as he previously secured "The Collaboration Song of the Year" in 2022 for his song "Left and Right (Feat. Jung Kook of BTS)" with Charlie Puth. This made him the first K-pop solo artist to win at this award ceremony.
The competition in the "Male Artist of the Year" category was tough, with artists like Morgan Wallen, who dominated the US Billboard "Hot 100" in 2023, and other big names like Bad Bunny, The Weeknd, and Drake, who were among the most streamed artists on Spotify in the previous year.
With the release of his solo album "GOLDEN" in 2023, Jungkook made his solo debut with the release of his singles "Seven (feat. Latto)" and "3D (feat. Jack Harlow)". The album recognised remarkable success on international charts, establishing Jungkook's status as a global pop star. His track record includes winning "Song of Summer" with "Seven" at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards, as well as "Best Song" and "Best K-Pop" at the 2023 MTV Europe Music Awards. He also earned "Top Global K-Pop Song" at the 2023 Billboard Music Awards, becoming the first Korean solo artist to win two awards at the ceremony.
As for the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards in the USA, which will take place on April 1st, Jungkook is nominated in four categories: "Best Music Video," "Favourite Debut Album," "Kpop Artist Of The Year," and "Kpop Song Of The Year."
